Free Public Astronomy Talks in Federation Park

Come along to Federation Park on Wednesday the 19th of April and Friday the 21st of April from 10am to 12pm for our free Public Astronomy Talks the whole family will love. The talks will start at 10am and go for 30 minutes each, with the final talk of the day on at 11:30am. Guest speakers and topics include:

Free Morning Yoga in Federation Park

Join us for Dark Sky Festival Morning Yoga and increase your connection to the eclipse. There are five free classes over Wednesday the 19th, Thursday the 20th (eclipse day) and Friday the 21st of April in Federation Park.

Join yoga teachers Maria, Cass, Meg and Lien from Inhala Yoga Studio, and Kylie from Journey Into Yoga, who have tailored a variety of classes held before and after the eclipse to support and enhance the best of yourself over this rare phenomenon. With your choice of Slow Flow, Hatha, and Vinyasa with a live DJ set, and acro-yoga, you can choose one to suit your mood – or join in on them all! Visions of the Cosmos by Dr John Goldsmith

Visions of the Cosmos is an astrophotography exhibition presented by Celestial Visions. It is a collaborative exhibition and showcases superb astro-landscape photography, featuring Western Australian, Australian, and international locations. Dr John Goldsmith will be in Carnarvon to launch the exhibition at the Carnarvon Library & Art Gallery on 14 April 2023

Solar Eclipse Markets

Join us for the Solar Eclipse Markets at the Carnarvon Civic Centre, it is the perfect place for families, astronomy enthusiasts, and local businesses to gather and celebrate the rare celestial event. During the week of Solar Eclipse festivities, the Civic Centre will be transformed into a bustling hub of excitement and activity. Come and browse the stalls filled with unique and locally made gifts, souvenirs, and handmade crafts. Sample some of the finest local delicacies from the region, as well as mouth-watering food and seasonal local produce.
The Solar Eclipse Markets will be open from 8am to 11.30am Saturday the 15th and Saturday the 22nd of April, and from 10am to 4pm Thursday the 20th of April.

KidsFest

Come and join us for a fun-filled day at the Kids Fest as part of the Solar Eclipse festivities in Carnarvon! With hands-on activities and exciting performances, there is something for everyone. Kids will have the opportunity to participate in fun science experiments and make their own pinhole cameras, plus live music, entertainment, food and so much more.
